Roughly ~9 months before, I connected +5V to the OUTPUT of an inverter gate (don't ask me why, check the old VODs on LiveOverflow2 on YT). This didn't cause any issues, until I connected the yellow control line. Which caused more current to flow and the chip to become burning hot.
