Riccardo "v1ci0us" Zanocchio starts playing videogames at young age with an Intellivision console, moving to Commodore 64 until the release of the Sega Mega Drive system.
During this time Riccardo experiences to be an avid console gamer / videogames magazine reader, he plays also with the Super Nintendo / Game Boy consoles.
He also plays a lot of Arcade games during summers, competing with others players, but his favourite genres are: Strategic / Role games.
Before moving to PC he plays on the Sega Saturn system.
At age of 19 he discovers online gaming at a friend's house and being hooked by it decides to buy his first PC. He starts to practice endless hours to became, after a year, a world class player winning a silver medal at the 2001 WCG in Seoul.
His talent continues to grow making him a worldwide opinion leader on the online gaming scene.
After the Unreal Tournament experience he moves to another FPS game, Quake III Arena from id Software and wins a tournament in Switzerland with his team.
In year 2005 he quits his University studies to fulfil his dream and lives as a pro gamer.
He is in charge of the Play.it team sponsored by Intel and also plays in 2005 CPL World Tour: the most important tournament in gaming history.
The 2005 CPL World Tour was a year-long gaming competition held by the CPL. This competition took place throughout 2005, with a total of 9 international stops and a final event held in the New York, USA and televised by MTV.
The total purse was $1,000,000 USD, with $50,000 USD at each international stop and a $500,000 final.
Being a talented writer he works with Italian writer Alessandra Contin, providing her with technical information and details about the gaming scene.
The book will be released in 2004 by Einaudi with the title of "Skill".
He also writes for famous Italian magazines during the release time of the Microsoft Xbox entertainment system in 2002, is interviewed by country newspapers and works with MTV Italy on a game based TV program in 2005.
In 2007 he wins the Italian stop of the 2007 World Tour winning the first price of $8.000 USD playing the Vivendi game F.E.A.R on Xbox 360.
In 2008 he speaks about the online gaming market during the 2008 Wholesale meeting of Telecom in Sevilla and goes to Philips in Bruges to make a consultancy on different gaming related products.
He follows daily the e-sport scene, writes on the related website and is a respected character in the online gaming community.
